20 John Rocker
John Rocker made a name for himself off the field more than he did on it, as his controversial comments and antics made him one of the most hated players in sports. While you could fill a book about his deviant behavior, Rocker was also a really good pitcher.
Rocker pitched to a 2.13 ERA in his rookie season with the Atlanta Braves and was promoted to the role of closer by his second year in the big leagues. Rocker spent three seasons in the closer role for Atlanta and finished his Braves career with 83 saves and a 2.63 ERA.
