7. Tom Candiotti

Tom Candiotti was another starting pitcher that had an overall solid career, with peak seasons in which he pitched to the level of an All-Star. Candiotti had eight seasons in which his ERA was below 3.50 and he led the American League in complete games thrown in 1986 with 17.

Candiotti pitched for many different teams throughout his career but spent the most time with the Cleveland Indians and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Across a 16-year career, Candiotti made over 400 starts and had a 3.73 ERA.

6. Danny Darwin

Danny Darwin pitched for two decades in the major leagues, splitting time between roles in the starting rotation and in the bullpen. Darwin’s best year came in 1990 when he was a swing man. That year he made 17 starts, 31 relief appearances, pitched 162 2/3 innings and finished the season with an MLB-best 2.21 ERA.

Darwin finished his 21-year career with a 3.84 ERA and nearly 2,000 strikeouts.
