Adam LaRoche was an excellent all-around starting first baseman during his career. LaRoche had some of his best seasons near the end of his career, playing with the Washington Nationals.

In 2012, LaRoche hit .271 with 33 home runs and 100 RBI. He was awarded both the Silver Slugger and the Gold Glove Awards for National League first baseman that year but was not elected to the All-Star Game.
