Rocky could have five or six spots on this list if we included each of the sequels separately, as it is clearly the greatest sports movie franchise of all-time. Heck they are still making Rocky movies to this day that draw massive box-office numbers as Creed II proved last month.

Rocky is a love story wrapped around a great boxing match, as an unknown amateur boxer challenges the heavyweight champion of the world Apollo Creed. Rocky did not have to win the fight to be a champion, all he had to do was go the distance.
