27. Hoop Dreams (1994)

Hoop Dreams is a documentary that follows two African-American high school students that have aspirations of becoming players in the NBA. William Gates and Arthur Agee are the players at the focus of the film, as they had to take a 90-minute commute to and from school to play for the basketball program at St. Joseph High School. The documentary was widely regarded by critics and raised a variety of societal issues that exist in our country.
