Friday Night Lights is about a big-time high school football program in Texas that has to make an improbable run to the state championship after star running back Boobie Miles tears his ACL in the first game. The film was based on a true story of the Permian Panthers run to the state championship game in 1988.
A television show of the same name was later made after the great success of the movie.
