2020 NBA Lottery Mock Draft

9. The Washington Wizards

The Wizards are in a weird spot. John Wall is expected to be healthy this upcoming season and if he’s the John Wall of old, then Washington has one of the best backcourts in the league with Wall and Bradley Beal. That alone could put Washington right back in the playoff mix in the Eastern Conference.

What Washington needs is a good, solid big man. Precious Achiuwa can be the big the Wizards are looking for.

A good comparison for Achiuwa is Montrezl Harrell. Precious is an undersized center, with an elite physical profile. He can straight up bully defenders on the block. He’s a very explosive athlete with an 7’2″ wingspan, so he can develop into a solid rim protector. Plus with a name like that, how could the man be bad?

Achiuwa would give John Wall and Bradley Beal a pick and roll that could provide to be unstoppable. Kind of like the old John Wall, Marcin Gortat pick and rolls of old that for some reason seemed unstoppable. The Wall, Gortat pick and roll was probably something you weren’t expected to be brought up in 2020, especially in a mock draft discussion, but here we are.

10. The Phoenix Suns

The Suns are in need of a point guard that can move some of the attention away from Devin Booker. Tyrese Maxey is that guy.

At 6’3″, Maxey would give Phoenix a very strong backcourt. MAxey has the versatility to play both guard positions which is perfect for Phoenix, because Booker can play both positions as well.

At Kentucky, Maxey played mostly, without the ball, which is good when Phoenix has some of the most ball dominant players in Devin Booker. Having said that, Maxey did show flashes at Kentucky of being a guy that can run he offense, a guy that can operate the pick and roll and play make for his teammates. That is perfect for Phoenix who needs a player who can take the pressure off of Booker.

Maxey, with a 6’8″ wingspan, has a very strong frame that helps him on the defensive end. Maxey can develop onto a solid defender which is a must for Phoenix who struggles defensively.
