2020 NBA Lottery Mock Draft

3. The Charlotte Hornets

Fred Katz/The Athletic

The Hornets reportedly are very interested in Wisemen. If they feel he is a guy that can turn their franchise around, then they should do whatever it takes to get him. However, if the Warriors decide not to trade down, then Charlotte will have to take the next best guy.

That next best guy for Charlotte could be Onyeka Okongwu, the 6’9”, 245lbs center from USC.

Okongwu is a strong, mobile center whose a very versatile defender.

He’s got a soft touch around the rim and in the midrange. He shot 72% from the foul line which is exceptional for a guy his size. He’s been compared a lot to Bam Adebayo, the Miami Heat all-star who burst onto the scene this past season.

A Devonte Graham, Okongwu pick and roll could become something that is very scary for opposing defenses.

4. The Chicago Bulls

Sam Vecenie/The Athletic

Chicago may be the most interesting team not being talked about in this draft. The Bulls have bunch of young, talented players in Coby White, Wendell Carter Jr, Lauri Markkanen, and Zack Lavine.

Chicago has solid guards and big men. What their missing is a do-it all forward that every contending team has. Obi Toppin can be that guy for the Bulls.

At 6’9”, 220lbs, Toppin has a very versatile offensive skill set. He’s solid in the one-on-one game, he can works well in the pick-and-roll as either the ball handler or the screener, he’s got a good jumper.

He’s reminiscent of a young Paul Pierce. Not the most explosive athlete on the court, but someone with a great feel for the game.

Don’t be surprised if, five years from now, Toppin ends up being the best player out of this draft.
