2020 NBA Lottery Mock Draft

7. The Detroit Pistons

If it weren’t for the Cavs, the Pistons would be the most boring team in the league. The most interesting thing about them is Blake Griffen who always seems to be injured. Can anyone even name another player on the Pistons? There’s no way anyone can name their starting five.

All jokes aside, the Pistons are a mess. Their a team that may decide to take a gamble on someone. That someone is Killian Hayes.

Hayes has seen many compassions to James Harden. The obvious reason being Hayes is left-handed like Harden, but looking more closely at Hayes’ game and it’s hard not to see why he is being compared to “The Beard.”

At 6’5”, Hayes has great size for a lead guard. He’s very comfortable in the pick and roll. He can create his own shot or draw defenders to him and find the open man with a bullet pass.

Hayes uses his great footwork and shiftiness to create space and generate open looks. He’s a great ball-handler who has proved during his Tim playing overseas that the moment isn’t to big for him.

Detroit needs a guy here that can not only improve the franchise, but someone who can sell tickets, and Hayes is that guy.

8. The New York Knicks

If the Knicks strike out on Hayes, then they might decide to take the most talked about prospect in this draft: LaMelo Ball.

Ball is the one player in this draft with the biggest difference of opinion between NBA insiders. Some think he’s the best player in the draft and should go number one. Others think he’s extremely overrated and might fall out of the top 10.

Well, if there’s one team that will take him it’s the Knicks.

At 6’7”, LaMelo has elite size for a point guard. He controls the game with his poise and great instincts operating off the dribble. LaMelo gives the Knicks something they haven’t had in a long time: an actual point guard. Plus, LaMelo will, no doubt, raise ticket sales because the interest the Knicks will receive to see how he turns out in the Big Apple.
