2020 NBA Lottery Mock Draft

5. The Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cavs are the complete opposite of the team before them in this draft. Chicago is young and exciting whereas Cleveland is just boring.

In the last two drafts, Cleveland has taken two extremely similar players in Colin Sexton (2018) and Darius Garland (2019). It’s mind boggling that Cleveland would take such smilier players in back to back drafts. Do they make it a third straight year and draft Lamelo Ball or Killian Hayes?

Nope, only the Knicks would be that dumb. The Cavs will take Devi Avdija, the 6’9” forward from Israel.

The dude has the body of a forward, but the skill set off a point guard.

The 19 year old Isreali prospect is at his best when operating the pick and roll, which is essential in today’s NBA. He’s displayed incredible timing and vision which allows him to read the defense and make the correct play.

Even though he lacks elite quickness and speed, Avdija has an explosive first step that allows him to get by quicker players.

Avdija could actually make Cleveland somewhat exciting to watch, which is saying something.

6. The Atlanta Hawks

The Hawks might try to trade up to get Avdija, who would fit their style of play so well, but tif they can’t do that then Isaac Okoro is their guy.

Okoro can step into any NBA locker room today and be a great defender and defense is a big problem for Atlanta. In any defensive metric out there, Atlanta is in the bottom five of the league. They need someone who can defend, and Okoro is that guy.
