Top 15 Playmakers in the 2019 NBA Draft & their Comparisons

#3 New York Knicks (Pelicans?) – RJ Barrett
Playmaker Comparison: Tracy McGrady

Barrett mirrors McGrady.

Both wings are nearly impossible to guard; staying in front of them is extremely difficult and guarding the step-back is too tough for most defenders. These playmakers are your true scorers.

RJ can finish at the rim just as well with his right as his left hand, and he can shoot the ball from mid-range and 3 at ease. His speed is underrated, and his handles are good enough to create any shot he’d like. Tall, pure scoring wings like RJ and Tracy McGrady typically transition very well to the NBA.

Now, with that said, do the Knicks keep Barrett? Or trade him to New Orleans for Anthony Davis? Unless the Pelicans get too greedy in addition to asking for Barrett, it’s likely we see Anthony Davis move to New York. The Knicks are most interested in a proven NBA superstar than a promising rookie; they would have even considered trading Zion Williamson to New Orleans if they got the #1 pick.

If this (very possible) trade happens, RJ Barrett will pair up with Duke teammate Zion Williamson once again. If Zion Williamson turns out to be like this Playmaker we mention next, then he will enjoy having a naturally scorer/shooter on his side.
