We can’t help but to think of Russell Westbrook after watching Ja Morant’s explosive acrobatic finishes all season long.

Like Westbrook, Morant loves to drive to the basket and use his bounce to pull off improbable layups/lay-ins. Because the entire opposing team is so concerned with Ja Morant driving and finishing at the basket, its common for 2 or more additional defenders to crowd the paint and leave Ja with plenty of kick out passing options. As a clever and crafty passer, this makes life that much easier for Ja.

On top of it all, his shooting is much better than Westbrook, a recipe to keep the defense guessing all game. With his ability to completely take over a game offensively and maximize his teammates capabilities, we consider Ja Morant to be one of the purist Playmakers in the 2019 NBA Draft.

The Grizzlies are in a rebuilding phase and need to pick the best available option at #2 to be the face of the franchise; Ja Morant needs to be their choice.
