10 Ideal Trades for Anthony Davis

Boston Celtics: Anthony Davis

New Orleans Pelicans: Gordon Hayward, two 2019 1st round draft picks (Via Memphis & Sacramento)

Trade must happen next season* (Rose Rule)

Kyrie Irving has “spoken to Anthony Davis” about coming to Boston, per @byjayking

The Celtics seem so close to having a title team…yet so far.

This is supposed to be the year the Celtics win the East and shock the world with an upset victory over the Warriors in the Finals; it doesn’t look like things will pan out that way. Even though the team is 8-2 out of their last 10, they are still a step behind the Raptors and Bucks in the East.

Trading for Davis puts the Celtics as the front runners to win the Eastern Conference, and possibly the NBA Finals. The front-court between Al Horford and Anthony Davis would be so versatile and difficult to contain; the two intelligent bigs will stretch the floor for each other while creating plenty of space for Kyrie to cut through defenses.

Meanwhile Gordon Hayward is finally showing signs of his normal self, the Celtics have proven they are fine without him, trading him is the smart decision. If Gordon can stay healthy, the Pelicans will get a Max contract level talent that can scorch teams with his shooting on any given night. Holiday and Hayward would be a wing combo that can give you an easy 45-50 points a night. Plus, if the Pelicans are open to a Gordon Hayward trade, the Celtics can offer them two 2019 1st round picks to use soon as the season ends.
