NFL Offseason Chaos

Ken Ruinard/USA Today Sports

This last category involves teams that will definitely have a new QB under center. This does not include teams that have already made a change like the Colts, Rams, and Lions.

The Jacksonville Jaguars

The New Orleans Saints

The Denver Broncos

The New England Patriots

The Washington Football Team

We talked about the Jaguars situation earlier, so no need to do it again. As for the other four teams, well, they know that the guy that played QB for them last season isn’t the future of their franchise.

Cam Newton played terribly in New England under Bill Belichick. The former MVP looked like a shell of his former self. He had one good performance against the Seahawks, but after that it was all downhill.

Part of that is probably due to injuries, but the Pats know that Cam is not the guy that can take New England back to where it once was. It’ll be interesting to see what the Pats decided to do this offseason.

Another interesting QB situation is taking place in New Orleans. Multiple sources believe Drew Brees will retire soon. This leave hea coach Sean Payton will a big question: Who will take the keys of the franchise? Will it be Jamis Winston or Taysom Hill?

This one probably won’t be sorted out till the beginning of the season, but it’s something to keep an eye on.

Next up are the Broncos, who, since Peyton Manning’s retirement, seem to always be looking for a new quarterback.

According to Jon Heath, of Broncos wire, Denver has started nine different QBs, since Manning retired: Joe Flacco, Drew Lock, Trevor Siemian, Paxton Lynch, Case Keenum, Brandon Allen, Jeff Driskel, and Brett Rypien. Oh and remember that practice squad player that was brought up to play QB that one game against the Saints last season? Kendal Hinton makes the tenth different starting QB since Manning retired.

Whether they draft a new QB or sign a veteran, or maybe both, the Broncos are looking for an upgrade at QB.

Last but not least, The Washington Football team. Well, they are least because they still don’t have a nickname. Before they sign or trade for a new QB, they need to figure out a new nickname. Please, for the sake of all of us football fans.

Yeah, they might have a great young defense headlined by Chase Young, but they still got no nickname. Washington, get back to us when you figure your new name, then you’ll be worth everyone’s time.
