NFL Offseason Chaos

Now with that out of the way, we can start getting into the fun part of this piece.

This next category involves teams that will probably not make a move at QB, but ruled out. Here are the teams on the list:

The Green Bay Packers – Aaron Rodgers

The Minnesota Vikings – Kirk Cousins

The Seattle Seahawks – Russell Wilson

That’s it.

Before we get into the the team and guy that has most of you scratching your heads, Kirk Cousins, lets talk about Aaron Rodgers.

The 37 year-old future hall of famer is coming off an incredible MVP season in which he threw for 4,299 yards, 48 touchdowns and only 5 interceptions.

Of course Green Bay what’s him back on the squad next year, head coach Matt LaFleur has come out and said so, but it may not be up to the Packers on whether not Rodgers stays.

After the Packers NFC Championship loss to the the Bucs, Rodgers had some interesting things to say about his future, including: “There are a lot of guys futures that are uncertain, myself included,” Rodgers said.

With Rodgers not getting any younger, he may request a trade to an organization that would give me more say and power in personnel decisions. I’m looking at you San Francisco.

With that being said, “AA-Ron,” will, most likely, be suiting up for Green Bay next season, but a trade request from Rodgers can’t be ruled out.

A quarterback in a similar situation is Russell Wilson.

Recently, Wilson was a guest on The Dan Patrick Show. In his appearance, Wilson had a lot of interesting things to say.

The 32 year-old mentioned his frustrations about the Seahawks offensive live. He also talked about his future with the Seahawks, saying: “I’m not sure how long I’ll play in Seattle, I think, hopefully, it can be forever. But things change, obviously, along the way.”

Later on in the interview, when asked about a possible trade in his future, Wilson had this to say: “I’m not sure if I’m available or not. That’s a Seahawks question.”

Hearing these comments are quite jarring coming from Russell Wilson. He’s known to be one of the most positive players in the league. Additionally, throughout his career, Wilson, has been a guy who doesn’t really say many interesting things about football.

He’ll usual comments range from giving everyone but himself credit after a victory, or in a loss, saying that he has to be better and that something like “next week’s an opportunity to bounce back.”

Wilson isn’t the type of guy to call out his teammates, or his front-office about anything. That makes his recent comments on The Dan Patrick Show that much more jarring.

Maybe, seeing Tom Brady success in Tampa has Wilson wanting that same power in an organization. That is a maybe, because it’s still more likely that Russell stays put in Seattle, but don’t be surprised if in the future Wilson wants a new start somewhere else.

Last, but certainly not least, in this category is Kirk Cousins and the Vikings.

Why is “Captain Kirk” in the same category as Rodgers and Wilson? Well, for a couple of reasons. The first being: Nobody really wants Kirk Cousins as their QB.

Cousins is an inconsistent, 32 year-old, middle of the road quarterback. If he is your team’s starter, then you’ll be in the mix for a wild card spot, with a record ranging from 7-9 to 10-6, depending on how good the rest of the team is. Never a real threat to make a Super Bowl run.

The second reason, relating to the first one, is money. The Vikings have $66 million tied up to him. Cutting Cousins would cost them a lot of dough, and trading him? Ha, don’t me laugh. Nobody is going to trade for Cousins, especially with the amount of QB’s potentially on the market. The Vikings are stuck with him.

Okay that’s enough about Kirk Cousins. Let’s get into the third category.
