NFL Awards 2020: MVP, Offensive and Defensive POY, Rookies, Coach, and Comeback Player

Alvin Kamara can do it all. He’s in the conversation for the best all-around running back every season as his versatility makes him a matchup nightmare. Whether catching out the backfield or slashing through the defense’s front seven, Kamara is a force. He has a chance to eclipse 1,000 yards both rushing and receiving with 11 touchdowns so far this season. Along with that, he’s on pace to break Cristian McCaffrey’s single-season running back receptions record of 116 set last season. And with Brees down for a couple of games, the Saints may need even more production from him. One year after his teammate Michael Thomas took home the award, another Saint could bring home the hardware this season.

In The Running:

Dalvin Cook- RB, Minnesota Vikings

Every award shouldn’t be quarterback dominant, and I think this back deserves respect. If the Vikings get in the playoff picture, I’ll change my pick to Dalvin. Cook is having a monster season averaging over 142 total yards per game and a league-leading 12 rushing TDs. He’s averaging 5.4 yards per carry for one of the run dominant offenses in the league. Like I eluded to earlier, his team’s lack of success hurts his chances. But every time he touches the ball, it looks as if he’s shot out of a cannon.

Russell Wilson- QB, Seattle Seahawks

Every quarterback I have or will mention has one thing in common; their defense is better than Seattle’s. Allowing over 29 points per game, Russ has the most pressure to score on each drive of any other QB. The odds on favorite for MVP a couple of weeks ago has had two uncharacteristically bad outings in a row. Wilson is leading the league in passing yards per game (309) and passing touchdowns (28). But he has also thrown ten interceptions. He could get back in the conversation for MVP with a strong back half.
