10. David Wright
David Wright’s career was on a Hall of Fame trajectory before injuries began to take their toll and derail him. Wright was a seven-time All-Star, two-time Gold Glove and two-time Silver Slugger Award-winner.
Wright owns nearly ever Mets record and is clearly the greatest position player in the history of the franchise. This season, Wright was able to battle back from a near two-year rehab process to return to MLB action.
While Wright only got to play in two games and get three at-bats, he was able to accomplish his goal of putting on that Mets jersey one more time before having to hang up his cleats and retire.
