The former All American lacrosse player and hall of fame running back was one of the most vocal civil rights leaders in history. Brown spoke out about Ali’s treatment in 1967. He also became an actor and did commentary for the Ultimate Fighting Championships’ early events. Brown’s efforts in anti-gang activism helped end a gang war between the Bloods and Crips in 1992.
