Before Philly got the Eagles in 1933, there was an attempt to bring the Union Quakers to the NFL. The Union Quakers had won a match that gave them the title of “City Champions of Philadelphia.” When the NFL wanted to bring a team to Philadelphia, they looked at the Union Quakers. However, plans fell through and talks faded for the Union Quakers.
