- The Arizona Firebirds
The Green Bay Packers tried getting a team to Arizona. The team hired many people in hopes of achieving their goal, but it didn’t happen for them. Instead, Cardinals owner decided he wanted to move his team from St. Louis to Arizona.
2. Seattle Sealions
Years before the Seattle Seahawks were a thing, there was an attempt to create the Seattle Sealions. However, the teams’ plans fell through and the Seahawks joined the NFL two years later as an expansion franchise.
3. Pennsylvania Keystoners
The Eagles and then-Pirates were already created. The Pirates owner wanted to make a third Pennsylvania team that would split home games between the two cities: Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. The team was never brought to life but, obviously the Eagles and now-Steelers are still in the NFL.
