Tom Brady‘s Buccaneers are the favorites right now to repeat as NFL champions and win another Super Bowl. The Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bill are the only other teams with odds less than +1000 to win it all.

Which of these three favorites is the safest bet to win it all this season?

The Three Super Bowl Favorites

Even though they are the reigning champs, it is a little surprising to see that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the heavy-favorites to win another Super Bowl. Those odds may be based on how much money has come in on Tampa, rather than an actual indication of their chances to win it all.

There have only been eight instances in NFL history where a Super Bowl champion has defended their crown and repeated. The New England Patriots were the last team to accomplish this feat, but it was all the way back in 2003-2004.

While you never want to doubt Brady, it doesn’t feel like putting money on the Bucs +550 to win another Super Bowl is the best bet out there.

While you can’t go wrong taking +600 odds on Patrick Mahomes winning the Super Bowl, the best bet here is taking the least flashy of these top three teams and laying your action on the Buffalo Bills.

Right now the Bills have the best point differential in the NFL at +90. Unlike the Chiefs, Buffalo has a great defense to pair with their young quarterback who can sling the ball all over the field.

Last year, the Chiefs and Bills met in the AFC Championship Game, where Kansas City ended up coming out on top to go to their second-straight Super Bowl. We should get a great idea of where these two teams stand tomorrow, as they are set to square off for the first time this year.

Best Bet to Win the Super Bowl

Going through the odds right now, if there is one team that jumps out above the rest, it’s the Arizona Cardinals.

Right now the Cardinals are +1400 to win the Super Bowl, so laying $100 on them would pay out a nice $1,500. Arizona certainly looks the part of being a Super Bowl contender, as they have the early-season favorite to win this year’s MVP.

Kyler Murray has been sensational so far in year 3, leading his team to an undefeated 4-0 start to the season. Murray is the signal-caller for the league’s best offense, which is loaded with weapons like DeAndre Hopkins, Christian Kirk and a seemingly rejuvenated A.J. Green.

While they say defense wins championships, this is an offense that can certainly outscore everyone on the way to a Super Bowl title.

Best Sleepers to Win it All

So far, we have discussed the three teams with the best odds to win the Super Bowl and the team I feel is the best bet to win the Super Bowl. Now it is time to take a look at some of the other sleepers in the field that have a realistic chance to win it all this season.

The Los Angeles Rams and Green Bay Packers are two teams that are still in the top-5 when it comes to Super Bowl odds, so it may not be fair to distinguish them as sleepers.

Still, these are teams that are not receiving as much love as the top three, but have just as good of a shot as any to be hoisting the Lombardi Trophy when it is all said and done.

The Rams have a star-studded roster, which now features a huge upgrade at quarterback with Matthew Stafford replacing Jared Goff this season. The Rams have been close to winning it all in the past, so no one would be shocked if they win it all now.

For Green Bay, it really just comes down to the fact that Aaron Rodgers always gives you a chance to win it all, as the reigning MVP’s dominance should never be doubted.

Along with the Packers and Rams, here are five other “sleepers” who you should be real contenders this season.

  1. Cleveland Browns: +1300
  2. Baltimore Ravens: +1300
  3. Los Angeles Chargers: +1600
  4. San Francisco 49ers: +2000
  5. Tennessee Titans: +4000

Betting on a “Cinderella Story”

There is nothing like placing a bet where the odds are so long that you can dream of a massive payout, without having to risk a massive amount of money to get one.

This is the type of bet where you know that it will probably never come through, but if it does nothing will feel better. The one team worthy of such a bet this season is the Cincinnati Bengals.

Right now the Bengals are a 3-1 team, but there odds to win the Super Bowl are +15000. This means that a $10 bet would win you $1,500 if Joe Burrow does the unthinkable.

Burrow would have to take this team on a pretty magical Cinderella Story of a ride to make it to the playoffs and then all the way through to the Super Bowl, but it is not impossible.

Burrow is a big-game player and the Bengals have a pretty solid foundation right now defensively. With their good record so far, the Bengals are tracking towards a playoff berth. Once they are in the dance, you never know what can happen.
