On Monday, it was reported that Howard will participate in the Slam Dunk Contest at All-Star weekend. The night prior, he recorded 5 of the Lakers’ 20 blocked shots — to go with 11 points and 9 rebounds — in a victory over the Detroit Pistons.

For the season, Howard is averaging 7.1 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in just under 20 minutes a game. These are all career-lows for Howard, but the numbers certainly do not justify the impact that he has had.
