Los Angeles Lakers Will Guarantee Dwight Howard’s Contract

Howard, who was once one of the best players in the NBA, had burned through four teams since his disastrous first stint with the Lakers.

The signing was seen by many as a last-ditch deal by a team that had perhaps waited too long for Kawhi Leonard and was stuck rounding up the leftover pieces from a barren marketplace.

However, the Lakers decided to take the careful route this time around with Howard. He was signed to a non-guaranteed deal for $2.56 million, which is the veteran minimum for a player with at least 10 years of service.
