Five 2020 NFL Rookies That Have Outperformed Their Draft Position

James Robinson: RB, Jacksonville Jaguars

Undrafted Free Agent, PFF Grade 74.8

The value doesn’t get any higher than getting a starting running back and not using a draft pick. On a bad Jaguars team, the back has been one of the few bright spots. Robinson is out of Illinois State and was looked over by every team over draft weekend. But, there must have been something the Jacksonville staff saw in camp. They were willing to trade Leonard Fournette to the Bucs. They also didn’t sign a free agent like Devonte Freeman when the second-year back Ryquell Armstead got placed on IR before the season.

Robinson has rewarded the Jag’s faith in him by putting up crazy numbers, not just for a rookie. Currently, the rookie is third in rushing with 890 yards and eighth in rushing touchdowns with 6. He is also versatile as he has 36 receptions for 289 yards and 2 TDs. Not to mention, he has been a fantasy league steal for those that picked him up off the waiver wire or drafted him late. I feel he should be up for Rookie of the Year consideration as his season has been that good.
