Coors Light’s Tom Flores Campaign Hits The Mark

Coors Light’s #FloresToCanton Campaign

The Coors Light campaign to get Tom Flores inducted to the NFL HOF.

Given that Flores took over for a legendary coach and continued the Raiders dynasty well into the late 1980s, many fans wonder how he isn’t in the Hall of Fame. He actually won two Super Bowls to Madden’s one. That, combined with breaking barriers on all three levels, should warrant his induction.

Well, Coors Light decided to do something about this glaring omission. The company launched a can, social media, and commercial campaign to highlight Flores’ snub. The website even has a petition for fans to sign https://www.coorslight.com/en-US/iceman. And while Coors may have lost out to Super Bowl commercial rights exclusivity to Anheuser-Busch InBev, the company has found a way to stay relevant in the NFL.

Coors even launched a limited edition commemorative cans only available in select Las Vegas locations: Find an Iceman can | Coors Light.

The pairing of the two couldn’t have come at a more opportune time. It’s no secret that beer and alcohol sales have declined in bars and restaurants due to statewide shutdowns and restrictions. With slimmer profit margins, every advertising dollar spent has to count. In an already mature industry saturated with competition, standing out is a challenge. Coors has passed the test and generated buzz among NFL fans and Latinos.
