30 Jumbotron Appearances in 30 Days: A Playmaker Exclusive

“Graduating from college was tough, retiring from soccer was tougher. I found a new joy picking up basketball, and I became a big NBA fan from there. That is why I am doing this, for the spirit of the game and simply being a fan.”

What David didn’t anticipate was the connections he’d make, the people he’d meet, and overall seeing the generous, spontaneous, and humane side of people.

“The thing I appreciate the most is the support from friends, family, my job, and fans from NBA teams that reach out and say hey do you need tickets for the game?, or I have a friend that can give you a courtside tour? Even people offering to cook me dinner and giving me a place to stay. The NBA and the sports community have changed my life.”

The man has people offering him to cook him dinner by people he doesn’t know from places he’s never been. A little odd, but pretty incredible.

A lot of you are probably wondering (as I was) how does he manage to make this work with his employers?

“To make this work with my job, I saved up vacation days and my employers supported me. In order to maximize my vacation, I started this journey on Christmas day.”
