What the Wall for Westbrook swap means for both the Rockets and Wizards

This deal has to have Rockets fans worried about the future of the franchise. The last time John Wall played in an NBA game was on December 26 of 2018. That’s two years ago! Oh, and the season prior to 2018, Wall played in less than 50 games (41 games played in the 2017-18 season, according to BasketballReference).

With how reliant Wall is with his athleticism and speed, it’s hard to imagine he can get back to the level he was when healthy.

Well, for all-intents and purposes let’s say Wall does get back to the all-star he once was. What does it mean for Houston if they get a really good and motivated John Wall? Then they have a backcourt of James Harden and John Wall which is an absolute terrible basketball fit.

John Wall’s a point guard. He’s someone who used to having the ball and needs to have the ball in his hands to be successful. Yet, Harden has the ball more than anyone in the history of the NBA. How do they play together? The answer is they don’t.

This deal is pointing towards Harden’s eventual departure from Houston.

Could Harden be on the move to Brooklyn, which he’s been rumored to want to go? Could he end up in Philly, and team-up with his former GM, Daryl Morey, and try to win a title that they’ve come so close to before? Could a surprise team come out of nowhere and offer a boatload of assets to land “the Beard”?

Now with Harden missing the beginning of training camp because he was out partying with Lil Baby, a trade is almost a certain to come in the near future.
