Way Too Early Takeaways from the Beginning of the NBA Season

5. Brooklyn’s in the House

It can’t be an early season takeaway article without mentioning the Brooklyn Nets. They are the team everyone is talking about. For good reason too.

Brooklyn began the season looking like they were in mid-season form. They blew out the Warriors and Celtics in their first two outings, and in those first two games, they looked unstoppable. KD and Kyrie look like they’re usual selves: two of the best scroers in the league, if not the two best. Plus, the Nets have such a deep roster. Granted, they did just loss Spencer Dinwiddie for the season, which will hurt Brooklyn, but they’re still so deep. Caris Levert, Joe Harris, Jared Allen, Landry Shamet, Tauren Prince Jeff Green, DeAndre Jordan are all quality players.

Since their first two games, Brooklyn has cooled off, now at 3-3. Watching the Nets though it’s hard see them as the favorites in the Eastern Conference. They still need work on defense and who knows if they can stay healthy, but, man, it’s going to be hard for anyone to beat Brooklyn four times in a seven game serious come playoff time.
