Warriors’ Klay Thompson Ruled Out Until After All-Star Break

Golden State Warriors expect to be without star guard Klay Thompson for the first half of the season. Warriors’ Bob Myers said Monday the team will give an update on Thompson’s status at during All Star weekend.

The 29 year old Klay Thompson tore his ACL during Game 6 of the NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors. The Raptors won the series later in the game.

Bob Myers said Thompson’s rehab was going well, it was expected that Klay Thompson would miss a fair amount of time during the upcoming season. Thompson suffered the injury on June 13, and has only been rehabbing for a little over three months.

The Warriors may not be their usual dominant selves without Thompson to start the season, but the team is still expected to be strong. If Stephen Curry and Draymond Green can keep the Warriors in contention early, Thompson could be the key piece they need in the second half depending on how quickly he’s able to rehab from the injury.
