In back to back seasons, the Bucks finished with the best record in the NBA. Yet, in back to back seasons, the Bucks have had disappointing playoff exits, making everyone question if they can keep Giannis once he becomes a free agent.

Milwaukee might feel forced to make a deal to satisfying the reining MVP. Chris Paul has been talked about as a possible target for the Bucks, but why not Devin Booker?

The past two post season exits have shown Milwaukee’s glaring weakness: their lack of a go-to scorer. In the regular season Giannis can get anywhere he wants, but the postseason is a whole different ballgame. Teams like the Heat, this past season, and the Raptors, last season, whole game plan was predicted on not allowing Giannis to get into the paint. When Giannis can’t get into the paint, he struggles. The Bucks need a go-to scorer in clutch situations and Devin Booker can be that guy.

Booker has proven over his five seasons in the league that the moment isn’t too big for him. He’s a player that can get a bucket anytime he wants and he has demonstrated that he can be a viable playmaker.

Playing with Giannis will benefit both stars. Defenses won’t be able to double team which would open up the court for both of them to operate. A Booker, Giannis pick and roll would be terrifying for defenses.

Milwaukee is in win now mode. Acquiring Booker might be the piece that the Bucks to put them over the top.
