18. Giancarlo Stanton Gifted to the New York Yankees by Derek Jeter

Giancarlo Stanton fell into the Yankees lap prior to the 2018 season, as the Marlins were forced to trade him because they could no longer afford his massive contract.

The trade was mocked around the league because of the ironic fact that Marlins new team owner, Derek Jeter, sent the NL MVP to the team that he played on for 20 years.

Stanton ended up hitting 38 home runs and 100 RBI in his first year playing in the Bronx.
