Tom Brady free agency odds: Smart money has Brady signing with Chargers or Colts

The Chargers have emerged as the early favorite to land Brady, with NBC’s Cris Collinsworth predicting Brady will wind up there. Though they have struggled mightily with attendance since relocating to LA in 2017 — players frequently complain about home games feeling like road games — they are moving into a new stadium in 2020. The No. 2 tenants in Stan Kroenke’s $5 billion Football Palace, SoFi Stadium, could use a big attraction. Signing Brady would certainly fit that bill.

From a personal standpoint, it is easy to imagine Brady and his wife, supermodel Gisele Bundchen, spending the sunset years of his football career among the beautiful and glamorous in LA. They used to own a $50 million mansion out there, which they sold to Dr. Dre.

Football-wise, the Chargers make sense as well, especially considering their aging quarterback, Phillip Rivers, will be a free agent, too. Los Angeles has some of the most dangerous pass-catchers in the league, with Keenan Allen, Mike Williams and Hunter Henry. Brady would have more than enough talented players to target.

Nine of the Chargers’ 11 losses this season came in one-possession games. They are a talented team, and Brady, even at his diminished stage, could put them over the top. They are the rightful favorites to land his services.
