Previewing the NFL Playoffs

3. 4)Tennessee Titans vs. 5)Baltimore Ravens

Evan Habeeb/USA TODAY Sports

This is the most interesting playoff matchup of Wild Card Weekend.

A year ago the top seeded Baltimore Ravens, with their MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson got embarrassed by the Tennessee Titans in their home stadium. Derick Henry ran ALL OVER Baltimore that day.

A year later, the two meet up again. This time around, things are a bit different.

The Ravens aren’t the top seed in the league. Lamar Jackson hasn’t looked like the MVP he was last season, and they have been one of the teams most hurt by covid and injuries. Yet, despite all of that, the Ravens are coming into the postseason as one of the hottest teams in the league. They’ve won five games in a row. Granted those five games were against pretty weak teams (The Cowboys, Giants, Jaguars, Bengals, and Browns), so they’re not quite Buffalo Bills level of hotness, but they’re turning heads.

As for Tennessee, well they got the scariest dude to tackle in all of football: running back Derick Henry. He became the first back to lead the league in rushing in back-to-back seasons since Ladamian Tomlinson in the mid 2000’s. Oh, and Henry did it by becoming the eighth player ever to rush for over 2,000 yards.

Quick trivia question: Who was the first 2,000 yard rusher? No it wasn’t Tom Brady. It was O.J. Simpson. Did he do it? Probably, but let’s not get into that. Great Twitter follow by the way.

Anyways, who knows what to expect with this game. The Titans could come out and demolish the Ravens like last year, or Lamar Jackson could continue his recent impressive play and lead the Ravens to victory. Most likely, the game will come down to the wire. If anything, this is going to be one entertaining game, featuring two high potent offenses.
