For people covering baseball, Seattle Mariners GM Jerry Dipoto is amazing. Dipoto is constantly wheeling and dealing as he seems to completely turn over his roster each year.

The problem with this strategy, aside from a lack of team continuity, is that fans are always getting attached to players that are immediately being sent out of town.

Robinson Cano was supposed to be the Mariners franchise player and they just traded him along with the star closer Edwin Diaz to the New York Mets. The Mariners also traded their ace James Paxton in a separate deal with the New York Yankees. If Dipoto keeps dealing wildly, he will risk alienating one of the better fan bases in the sport.
