Josh Smith Has Not Played For Detroit In 5 Years But Still Collecting Checks

With things not quite working out in Atlanta, Smith entered the power struggle of maintaining an efficient frontcourt alongside Detroit Pistons’ monster center, Andre Drummond. When the two combined, the Pistons had one of the most intimidating frontcourts in the league. Many thought the Smith was suffocating Drummond in the paint, and therefore, hurting Drummond’s potential growth.

There just wasn’t enough room for both of them on the floor. So, the Pistons made the move to release Smith and keep Drummond, a move that has made the Pistons a much better team overall. It has turned out to be one of the best decisions their front office has made in recent years which has contributed to them entering the playoffs again.
