Josh Smith Has Not Played For Detroit In 5 Years But Still Collecting Checks

It seems like just yesterday that we were watching a young and athletic Josh Smith soar through the air and electrifying the Slam Dunk Contest. However, those days are far behind the former professional athlete.

Coming into the league with expectation and potential to be one of the all-time greats, Smith’s fall from grace has been as dismal as we could have imagined.

After being selected 17th in the draft by the Atlanta Hawks, Smith was projected to be a cornerstone for years to come, and he actually started off rather promising. Of course, it has all gone downhill since that point. Since starting in Atlanta, Smith has bounced around the league with stints in Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, then back with the Rockets again in Houston.
