Jimmie Johnson “slowing down” in 2020

Jimmie Johnson announced he will be ending his career as a full time Cup driver.

The 44 year old, seven time NASCAR champion posted a video on social media captioned “#Chasing8 one final time”. Many speculated he would be retiring but in a press conference Thursday, Johnson made it known he was not. Johnson stated, “I’m wide open this is not a retirement from driving race cars. This is slowing down from 38 weekends a year…” He continued, “It’s been a bit of a run and we’re gonna keep going.”
