The Rockets got back a haul in exchange for Harden.

Houston received three first round picks from Brooklyn, in 2022, 2024, an 2026, as well as pick swaps in 2021, 2023, 2025, and 2027. They also got a 2022 first round pick via the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Rockets are banking on things to turn sour in Brooklyn. If the Nets do go down in flames, the the Rockets are set up very nicely for the future, but even if the Nets don’t, the Rockets are still set up well for the future.

Say what you want about draft picks, whether they’re overrated or underrated, one thing is for sure: they are valuable assets.

If Houston wants, they can try and move this draft picks to improve there current roster, or they can just play the long game and see where these picks end up.

Also, a part of this deal, the Rockets got Victor Oladipo.

The 28 year-old guard as gone under that radar so far this season. He’s getting back to the guy he was three seasons ago when he was considered a top 20 player in the league.

So far this season, Oladipo is putting up 20.0 points per game, 5.7 assists per game, and 4.2 rebounds per game. Quietly, the dude’s having a great season. He’ll will be a great fit alongside John Wall.

More importantly, the Rockets can finally move on from Harden. All the drama is over Houston. Well, that is until Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson requests a trade. It’s got to suck to be a Houston sports fan nowadays.
