Interesting Statistics From The 2020 NFL Season

The New England Patriots Season of Oddities

Love them or hate them, seeing Bill Belichick and the Patriots struggle this season was odd. A season that was like 2020 in a nutshell, very unusual. Not to mention, seeing Tom Brady in a Bucs uniform added to the craziness. Beyond all this, the New England team had a couple of statistical anomalies that warrant attention.

The first oddity is that their leading receiver, Jakobi Meyers, scored no receiving touchdowns. Adding to the peculiarity is that he actually threw two passing touchdowns this season. If this isn’t wild enough, defensive back Devin McCourty had more touchdowns (2) than the team’s leading rusher Damien Harris and the aforementioned leading receiver.
