Drake (Unanimously) Wins Most Valuable Teammate

The Toronto Raptors have now won their first NBA Finals in franchise history.

This series was a hard-fought battle, from the initial tip-off of Game 1, to the final seconds of Game 6. Everyone on the Raptors arose to the occasion to stop the Golden State Warriors from achieving the precious 3-peat. From the starting lineup, to the bench, everyone played their role beautifully to make this Toronto-Cinderella story a reality.

Kawhi Leonard was unstoppable on both ends of the floor, Serge Ibaka blocked everything in sight, Pascal Siakam brought the spice, Fred VanVleet drained as many rainbow 3s as a fan could pray for, and Kyle Lowry had a career game to close out the series.

But, thanks to one key piece, the Toronto Raptors were able to put this Championship puzzle together.

There was one component, one force, that set the tone from the very start of the series. He was the light that guided the Raptors through the darkness when we all thought they were about to blow a 3-1 lead.  The heart, soul, rock, and leader that gave the Raptors the confidence to charge into the Yay Areaaaa and then into the promise land.

This man put it all on the line. He selflessly gave himself to this team, leaving everything on the court, and then some. Now, he is an NBA Champion.

He is the 6-God and October’s Very Own, Aubrey “Drake” Graham.

Drake’s technique was flawless, and his tenacity couldn’t be matched. We all knew he was a natural, but no one anticipated the energy and intangibles Drake would bring to the table.

Drake made an impact on every play, leaving the Warriors wobbling like the Golden Gate bridge in an earthquake. Draymond Green was overwhelmed by his presence, and Steph Curry was outmatched by his superior talent. Champagne Papi didn’t disappoint in clutch situations either, making the ultimate play and sacrifice to will his team to a World Title.

Because Drake was such an asset to the Raptors lineup, Nick Nurse had no choice but to let him stay on the court for all 48 minutes without any rest, for every single home game.

Fans will look back on this series and remember one of the Greatest Finals Performances in NBA history. That’s why we believe it’s important to take a moment here and appreciate the Most Valuable Teammate of 2019, Drake.

Everyone who doubted him is asking for forgiveness, if you ain’t been a part of it, at least you get to witness.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you, Drake’s Top 10 Plays of the 2019 NBA Finals.
