Detroit Lions: Wide Receiver Charles Rogers Dead at 38

The Detroit Lions’ have suffered a tragic loss as their former wide receiver Charles Rogers passed overnight.

Rogers was selected as the number two pick in the 2003 NFL draft, but his career was destroyed by his constant drug use.

Rogers died on Monday, November 11th 2019, and his cause of death was reported as liver failure.

Part of Roger’s liver failure could have started from the painkillers he was prescribed after a collarbone injury early in his career, to which his mother claimed he became addicted.

Roger’s former teammate at Michigan State, Chris Baker, chimed in on Roger’s death — a heartbreaking experience.

In addition to his mother, Rogers’s survivors include eight children; his brother, Mike Afford; and his sisters, Keisha Afford and Savannah Brown.
