10. 2K Ratings Matter

In the summer of ‘09, 2K Sports released the NBA 2K ratings to the players before announcing them publicly. With complete and utter disbelief, Kobe noticed he was the 3rd highest rated player in the game, tied with Chris Paul at 94.

Without hesitation, Kobe Bryant made a call to 2K Sports to plead his case for the highest rating: “No one is clutch like me”, “I have more rings than them, combined!”. About a week later, the 2K Sports team informed Kobe and players around the league that after a thorough review, Kobes rating has been bumped to 97, giving him the highest rating in NBA 2K10.

2K Sports added they were sorry for the misunderstanding; but players, including LeBron James, haven’t forgiven the company to this day.
