WWE: Hall-Of-Famer Rocky Johnson Dies At The Age Of 75

In 1983, Rocky became Tony Atlas, or “Mr. USA’s” partner to form “The Soul Patrol.” During that same year, they went on to declare victory over the Wild Samoans to become the first black duo to win the WWF Tag Team Championship.

Johnson decided soon that it was time to retire. Following his retirement in 1991, Johnson helped trained Dwyane, who later took on the moniker “Rocky Maivia,” a tribute to his father and grandfather on his mother’s side of the family.

Not only did Dwyane “The Rock” Johnson portray his father in the ring, but he also was able to portray Rocky Johnson in his first acting role in 1999 on the popular TV series That 70s Show.
