The Wolves have had a disappointing season so far, and despite beating the Lakers, 108-86 on Sunday, decided to fire President and head coach Tom Thibodeau.

At 18-21, the Timberwolves are currently 11th in the Western Conference and are 6-9 in their last 15 games. With the entire Jimmy Butler saga before the season still looming over the franchise, it was inevitable that Thibodeau was not going to last long. But the firing does come as a surprise considering the fact that the Wolves are still well within playoff contention.
