With J.J. Watt, Are the Cardinals Contenders?

In 2019, the Cardinals were 21st overall in team offense (341.7 ypg) and 17th in scoring (22.6 ppg). These were improved in 2020 as the team jumped to 6th in overall offense (384.6 ypg) and 13th in scoring (25.6 ppg). And to think, this improvement came with a disrupted offseason program.

Furthermore, the Cardinals are committed to Murray and the offense’s continued development in 2021. In a recent article on the team’s website, Coach Kliff Kingsbury made it abundantly clear his intentions on helping Muray grow. According to the Cardinals coach,

“I want to make sure we continue his progression, make sure we are taking the next step,” Kingsbury said. “To be able to do what he’s done from Year 1 to Year 2 without an offseason, I’m excited to see where it heads next. I think we all know the talent is immense, and he has a chance to be as good as anybody in this league.”
