Tony Romo Wants $10 Million Per Year In His Next TV Deal

Tony Romo has become a hit as a NFL Commentator since taking over in the booth at CBS with Jim Nantz in 2017. Now, he wants to be the highest paid commentator in history.

After the 2019 season, Romo’s contract with CBS will run up and he will be seeking a much larger deal, according to Michael McCarthy of the Sporting News. Per McCarthy, Romo’s representatives are very aware of his value and are hoping to get him eight figures annually from CBS, making him the first analyst to make $10 million or more per year. It would surpass the previous high, which was $8 million per year given to John Madden in his last TV deal with NBC.

If CBS ends up not granting Romo’s wish, ESPN would surely make an offer to scoop him up, as they have a vacancy this season on their Monday Night Football team, with Jason Witten stepping away to make a comeback to the Cowboys.
