The Time Michael Jordan Turned Down Endorsement Deal Because He Did Not Like The Name

In the past year, Jordan has made over $300 million, which puts his net worth at 1.7 billion dollars, making him one of the wealthiest men in the world.

While Jordan had more than enough money throughout his long NBA career, he certainly had enough money to turn down endorsement deals that he didn’t like too much. Sometimes, the reasoning behind him turning them down was quite funny, for instance, this one.

During a Playboy interview that took place in 1992, Jordan revealed how important it was to keep a genuine personal image when choosing which products to endorse. At the time, Jordan was averaging $1 million a year as a basketball player and turned down a seven-figure offer to endorse Beanee Weenees because he did not use the product, and quite frankly, did not like the name.
