The Best Duos In The NBA (2019)

5. James Harden & Russell Westbrook

This probably just triggered a lot of you.

Talent wise this duo should be ranked higher, but how compatible are their playing styles? Both Westbrook and Harden have commanded their teams and demanded the ball in their hands. The two former MVPs have had among the highest usage rates in the NBA over the last few seasons.

Neither men are accustomed to being a #2 option, so someone has to adjust and play off-ball. A big change to either of their games. However, Russell Westbrook is used to be playing along side Kevin Durant longer than James Harden & played with Paul George for 2 seasons. Perhaps those experiences will help him adjust to playing with someone that needs the ball in their hands as much as he does.

Last season Russell Westbrook averaged 22.9 ppg, 11.1 rpg, 10.7 apg and James Harden averaged 36 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 7.7 apg. Where these men struggle is avoiding turnovers. Russ averaged 4.5 turnovers a game last season while the Beard averaged 5.
