After beating LeBron James in back-to-back NBA Finals in 2017 & 2018, Kevin Durant didn’t get the validation that he desired. Which begs the question, was beating LeBron James in the Finals what he wanted all along?

It appears Kevin Durant yearns to be identified as the best player in the NBA. He thought beating LeBron in the NBA Finals would earn him that title, but like Simmons and Kerr said, it didn’t happen. Instead the critics piled on the criticism that Kevin Durant had to join and championship team to beat LeBron, therefore he didn’t get the credit he wanted or deserved.
