This motivated LeBron James to use his platform more than ever to speak about politics and social issues. Demonstrating that he is more than just an athlete. This led to the start of LeBron James’ media company, Uninterrupted.
Now, Uninterrupted’s most famous slogan is being fought for. According to TMZ Sports, a youth development non-profit organization based in Maryland called Game Plan inc. is suing Uninterrupted, Disney, Nike, & Take-Two Interactive Software inc. (NBA2K) for the usage of the phrase.
Game Plan inc. is seeking $33 million and injunctive relief.
The organization claims they applied to trademark “I am more than an athlete” in 2016 and were awarded the rights to the trademark on June 5th, 2018.
